AacpMy Week in Review 8/23/24

This was my last week of no school. I am officially scheduled to sub a week from today already and will go into each day like I will get a call. I’m ready to be back. I used my free time this week to watch a movie and read two books.

Life

I worked my last Friday morning shift at the barn and then had book club that night. It is not a smart combination. I was exhausted and left book club very early. Or maybe they were just extra boring this time.

We went to the Ravens preseason game on Saturday. It wasn’t a great game, but it was fun to be back. I’m looking forward to the regular season.

My wife is out of town this week for work so the house has been quieter than normal. That’s probably why I finished two books this week.

Movies

We watched Jackpot on Prime. It stars Awkwafina and John Cena. It takes place in a future LA where lottery winners can be legally murdered within 24 hours of winning. If you kill them you get the money. The only rule is — no guns. Awkwafina moves back to town and knows nothing about the lottery until she wins it by accidentally activating a ticket in the pocket of borrowed clothes. John Cena shows up to protect her for a percentage of the winnings.

It was a fun movie. I love Awkwafina and John Cena and they worked well together. It had action and comedy which is perfect for a house where one person loves action movies and the other loves comedies. It was also fun to see Simu…
